SerialGhost Module 2GB

SerialGhost Module 2GB ----- Clever serial logging --- The SerialGhost is a compact RS-232 and serial bus logger. It has a huge memory capacity of 2GB, and may be accessed as a USB Flash drive. -- How does it work? -- The SerialGhost is a compact asynchronous serial logger, capable of recording RS-232 data streams. Bidirectional data flowing through the serial bus will be captured and stored on the microSD card in a special file. This data may be retrieved by enabling Flash Drive mode, or removing the card. The SerialGhost Module does not require any dedicated softw or drivers. ----- Installation of the SerialGhost Module in record mode is quick and easy. Simply connect both serial streams to the RX and TX input connectors. Usually this will be the upstream and downstream line of a serial bus. The device must be powered with a +5V DC (min. 200 mA) power supply, through the +5V/GND connectors, or using the mini-USB socket. -- The SerialGhost will immediately start logging all data flowing through the bus, both upstream and downstream (RX and TX). -- Once serial data has been recorded, it may be viewed simply by removing the microSD card, and inserting it into card reader. The removable disk will contain the file LOG.TXT with a text log of all captured data. Alternatively, a the mini-USB socket may be used to connect the SerialGhost Module logger to a computer. -- For embedded applications, the USB cable may be replaced with hard-wired connections. Refer to the image number 4 for a description of pins. -- The Flash drive may also be used to configure the device, such as baudrate, parity bits, start/stop bits, etc. __________ Applications: -Data recording from peripherals such as printers, terminals, keyboards, mice, card readers -Reverse-engineering of data exchange protocols -Backups of sensitive data from devices like Points-of-Sale, barcode scanners, card readers -Data logging from sensors: temperature, pressure, voltage etc.
